Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) & Repeat Prescriptions

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service that allows your GP surgery to send prescriptions directly to your nominated pharmacy electronically — making prescription management faster and more convenient.

Whether it’s a one-off prescription or a repeat prescription, EPS eliminates the need to collect a paper prescription from your GP and take it to the pharmacy. Instead, your prescription is sent securely and instantly to your chosen pharmacy, saving you time and unnecessary trips.
Managing your NHS repeat prescriptions has never been easier. Once your GP issues the prescription or you request a repeat, it is sent electronically to Giles & Ward Pharmacy, where we’ll prepare it for you to collect or deliver (if eligible).

To start using EPS, speak to a member of our team to nominate Giles & Ward Pharmacy as your preferred pharmacy. We’ll take care of the rest.

NHS Repeat Prescription and Repeat Medication

Repeat medications are those you take regularly for a long-term or chronic condition, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or asthma. These medicines have already been approved by your GP, which means you can request NHS repeat prescriptions without needing a GP appointment each time.

Your GP will usually arrange a six-monthly or annual review to check your condition and ensure your medication is still appropriate. This review often involves a blood test or other routine monitoring.

If you have any questions about your repeat medication or need help managing it, our pharmacy team is here to help
